Artist Biography

Wap (pronounced whap) grew up in Louisiana around the funky beats coming from the early New Orleans bounce scene. By mixing those sounds with hip-hop influences such as 8-Ball&Mjg, UGK, Outkast, Jay-Z, Master P, Hot Boys and others, Wap has been able to craft his own unique musical voice that he has brought to the DFW rap scene. As the frontman for Gamehead Records, Wap takes on the responsibility of setting the example for an all-star crew that includes up-and-comers like G Blackwell and more. Whether it be the popular Live From The Gameroom mixtape series or his new sophmore street album Open Up Shop, Wap only puts out the highest quality albums intended to grab his audience’s attention on every last track. Not only does he possess the skills to scribe ice cold lyrics, he also lays the blazing beats that compliment his Bayou dialect! Don’t be fooled into believing that Wap is just a studio talent.
