Young 80 aka “Talk of the City” from San Diego, CA was born in 1983. His passion for music led him to begin writing lyrics at the tender age of 13. Young 80’s, music is influenced by artists such as: Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Dj Quick and the entire west coast hip hop culture. At 17, he started recording his music with dreams and ambitions of becoming a large figure in the music industry. Taking time to work on his music and songwriting skills, he set his mind on the goal at hand. His latest mixtape “Talk of the City” Hosted by Shadyville’s DJ SIXX has moved over 41,000 units independently. Young 80’s featured single “ WORK THAT” is also featured on the “Talk of the City” mixtape. Young 80 has set high standards for himself and is not easily distracted from his dream. Staying focused, confident and having high expectations is his motivation. When asked about the success of his latest mixtape “Talk of the City” he said “It’s time to put San Diego the map”. Young 80 is currently featured on nine mixtapes in which two are on a major circuit. In July of 2007, Young 80, signed to Chris Jones, CEO of Ridiculous Entertainment INC, who is a promoter and independent record-label. He joined label mates SL500 from the Wax Klik (San Diego, CA) and RIO (Oakland, CA).Young 80, has opened for major acts such as: Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Chris Brown, Yung Burg, WC, Eek A Mouse,Flo Rida and Barrington Levy.
